In the summer of 2023, ROI piloted an innovative new high school internship program, the Young Civic Leaders (YCL) initiative, in collaboration with the Town of Tarboro, N.C.
In June 2024, as a part of our ongoing policy work in rural eastern North Carolina, we held a monthly session in which we listened to our community to identify priority issues and then fuse community knowledge, international best practices, and local connections to solve them.
